Afterwards, you are warmly welcome to stay for dinner from 5:30 PM onwards. This will be catered by Van der Zalm. We would like to know how many people to expect for dinner. That is why we ask everyone this form to be filled in.

We would like to receive no later than September 13 your answers. Earlier is nice for the planning.

We expect everyone at the SKO Study Day inclusive drinks are present.

If you really cannot attend, please discuss this. before September 13 with your supervisor.

During the SKO Study Day, everyone is assigned to a group. Each group follows its own program. On SKOEP You can find the group assignments. Check in advance which group you are in and which program you are following. The group assignments are based on the location where you work or the age group you work with.

Do you work in the flex pool? Then check the '‘Overview of flexible worker classification‘Find out which group you have been assigned to and look up the corresponding daily schedule.

The pedagogical program focuses on neurodiversity and is provided by De Club van juf Sofie. Sofie van de Waart is a teacher and specialist in how different brains work. Together with two educationalists, she takes you through recognizable situations from practice and shows how neurodiversity can manifest itself and what this requires of you as a professional. It is not a packed day, just listening. You will gain insights, practical tools, and ideas that you can put into practice immediately the next day.

The pedagogical program consists of the following components:

  • Keynote Outsiders on Board
  • Educational walk
  • Workshop (choice of three workshops)

What is neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity means that not all brains work the same way. And that is normal. Just as people have different eye colors, heights, or talents, our brains also differ from one another. Some people think very quickly, while others think very deeply. Some are sensitive to sounds, while others have a great need for movement or structure.

Neurodiversity does not look at what is 'wrong' with a brain, but at the different ways in which people think, feel, learn, and process information.

Keynote Outsiders on Board

Some children think, feel, and react just a little differently. Think of children with ADHD, autism, or giftedness. It is precisely these children who can benefit from extra support with their executive functions.

In her keynote *Buitenbeentjes Binnenboord* (Outcasts On Board), Sofie van de Waart takes you into their world. What happens to these children? Why can their guidance sometimes be so intensive? And above all: what can you do to better understand and guide them? You will receive concrete tools that help create more calm, understanding, and a pleasant atmosphere in the group.

Educational walk
Get outside for a bit! During this walk, we will engage in conversation. Using questions as a guide, we will discuss various practical situations regarding neurodiversity in the workplace: in contact with children, in collaboration with colleagues, and in your own role as a professional. A moment to stretch your legs, get to know each other in a different way, and look at your own role with a fresh perspective.

Workshops
You can choose one of the three workshops below. Upon arrival, you can select a workshop voucher. Please read the descriptions below in advance and prepare if necessary.

Workshop 1: Executive functions in practice
How do you help children with planning, switching between tasks, controlling impulses, and managing emotions? And what can you do during those moments when things just aren't going smoothly in the group?

Orthopedagogue Judith Knoops translates theory into practice. You will work with situations you encounter yourself, for example during drop-off and pick-up times, activities, or with behavior you find challenging. Therefore, please bring a specific situation in mind beforehand. It will be an interactive workshop full of ideas that you can immediately try out in the group the very next day.

Workshop 2: Identifying developmental advancement
How do you recognize advanced development in young children? And which signals should you spot early on to help prevent problems later in life? Sofie van de Waart shows you what to look out for. She will also explore with you what children's drawings can reveal. Do you have a special drawing by a child? Then bring it along, labeled with the child's age. You can also ask the children beforehand to draw a person on white paper and bring striking drawings to the workshop. This way, we will not only listen, but above all observe, discover, and translate this into your daily practice.

Workshop 3: The first 1000 days of a child
A child's first 1000 days begin while still in the womb. But how much influence does that initial period actually have on further development? Ecological pedagogue Anne Willems takes you through the development of the young child. In doing so, she looks not only at the child, but at the entire environment in which a child grows up. And childcare plays an important role in this.

First Aid/Emergency Response Refresher Training
The mandatory The First Aid/Emergency Response refresher training consists of e-learning and a meeting during the study day.

• Four weeks before the study day, you will receive your login for the e-learning via email.
• Ensure that you have completed the e-learning for the study day. Only then can you participate in the meeting.
• After attending the meeting during the study day, your certificate will be renewed for another year.

The SKO Study Day takes place on Wednesday, October 7, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (7.5 hours total, excluding breaks and including drinks). SKO will provide lunch between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM and drinks from 4:15 PM to 5:30 PM. Following the drinks, there will be dinner starting at 5:30 PM.

Rules for hourly compensation

The location coordinators schedule a shift in KidsVision for their own employees from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a 1-hour break (7.5 hours total). Employees can then approve the 7.5-hour shift themselves in the KidsVision app at their own location by selecting 'Study Day'.

  • For employees who have a regular after-school care shift on Wednesday from 12:00 to 18:30 (a total of 6 hours), 1.5 hours will be added. These employees can approve their shift directly in the app at their own location by selecting 'Study Day'.
  • For employees who do not work on Wednesdays, the location coordinator schedules a shift in KidsVision. Under 'Approve', they can select 'Pay out training' or 'TvT training'.
  • For employees working shorter hours (e.g., preschool), the location coordinator sets up an additional service in KidsVision. They can also choose 'Pay out training' or 'TvT training'.
  • Employees scheduled on Wednesdays who are not required to attend First Aid/Emergency Response refresher training should consult with their supervisor about how to spend the free half-day. This could involve attending additional workshops, performing administrative tasks, making up the time at another moment, or taking time off.
  • If employees genuinely cannot be present for part of the day, they discuss this with their supervisor. The shift in KidsVision is adjusted accordingly.
  • Employees with a shift of more than 7.5 hours (for example, day care or support) record the remaining time for completing the e-learning (maximum 3 hours).
  • Employees who are (partially) ill but are able to attend this training day cannot claim extra hours. Attending the training day and the e-learning is considered a reintegration activity.

We inform parents about the SKO Study Day as follows:

  • In early September, parents will receive a message via the Parent Portal regarding the study day and what the closure means for them. This message is being shared with you.
  • At the end of September, a poster about the study day will be hung up at all locations.
  • On October 5, parents will receive a final reminder via the Parent Portal.

It is always nice if you also personally remind your parents of this.
