Do you work with waiting lists?
At many locations, we operate waiting lists because many places are currently filled. We do our utmost to secure a place for you. To do so, we depend on cancellations or changes to the schedule. Furthermore, children with siblings already in childcare and children transitioning from daycare/preschool to out-of-school care are given priority for placement.

It happens regularly that we are unable to offer a childcare place as of the desired start date. Unfortunately, we are often unable to place children who are not yet affiliated with SKO through childcare. Therefore, we advise you to develop an alternative plan alongside the SKO registration in case placement is not possible (in time).

What are the chances that I will get a place?
That depends on several factors: desired days, how many days it concerns and how flexible you are. For example, a chance of a place for 1 or 2 days is greater than 3 or 4 days becoming available at once. If there are fewer days than desired, we advise you to accept this in advance and to remain on the waiting list for the remaining days. On Wednesday and Friday there is a faster chance of a place than on the other days. We would love to hear from you if you are also interested in these days. You can stay on the waiting list for other days.

Where am I on the waiting list?
Unfortunately, we cannot say. It depends on several factors, such as the desired start date, the number of days, preferred days, age, progression, priority placements from daycare/preschool and siblings, day swaps, and cancellations. As soon as a spot becomes available, we will of course offer it to you. You will receive a notification from us immediately; you do not need to do anything yourself.

When will I hear if there is a place?
As soon as a place becomes available, you will receive an offer from us by e-mail. You don't have to do anything for this yourself.

When do I have to register my child?
For day care, we advise you to register your child as soon as possible to increase the chance of securing a place. We will take your preference into account in the planning and, of course, do our utmost to accommodate you. Registration for out-of-school care is permitted from your child's second birthday. Please note: if your child already attends our day care or toddler care, your child is not automatically enrolled in after-school care.

How can I make an appointment for a tour?
On this website you can take a virtual tour of our locations. If you have received a placement offer, there is the possibility to get a tour of the location. If you indicate this, the location will contact you to make an appointment.

Is registration a guarantee that I will actually get a place?
We do our utmost to realize a place for you. Children with brothers or sisters at the day care and children who transfer from the day care to the BSO are given priority in the placement. It often happens that we are unable to offer your child a childcare place on the desired start date. Unfortunately, we are often unable to place children who are not yet connected to SKO through childcare. That is why we advise you to work out another plan in addition to the SKO registration in case placement is not possible (in time).

Why can't I purchase one day of playgroup or childcare for babies?
Scientific research shows which factors influence the quality of care. Based on this research and our own experience, we have decided to offer contracts of at least two days (parts) for children from baby groups and playgroups. It is important to be able to build a relationship of trust with your child. With this we want to guarantee our high quality and ensure that your child can also develop safely and optimally with us.

Are there costs associated with registering my child?
No, registration for the waiting list is free of charge and without obligation.

Are there cancellation fees?
There are no cancellation costs associated with registration. If you still want to cancel the placement after you have signed the contract, we apply the following cancellation conditions:

  • Cancellation costs up to 1 month before the start of the care: € 50.00.
  • Cancellation costs within 1 month before the start of the care: 1 month of care according to contract.

Who do I contact about my registration?
At SKO you will be in contact with the Customer Service employees about your registration. If we have a place for you and we can make you an offer, you will receive this email from Customer Service.

How do I register my second or subsequent child?
You can email the registration toinfo@sko-oegstgeest.nl. We would like to hear the due date and when you would like to start the childcare. This way we can put you on the waiting list. As soon as we can make an offer, you will receive an email from us. You don't have to do anything for this yourself.

How can I cancel?

Do you offer flexible contracts?
We do not offer flexible contracts, such as half days, days that can be used flexibly, 40-week contracts or only childcare during holiday periods. This has to do with the fact that we have waiting lists at most locations. We believe it is very important to be able to guarantee peace and continuity within the group.

I want to purchase an extra day. How do I do that?
If you would like to purchase an extra day on an incidental basis, you can request this via the Parent app. If the occupancy of the group allows it, you can use this extra day. If you have built up credit (by making previous cancellations at least five working days in advance), you can 'pay' for the incidental extra day with this credit. If you have no credit, the extra day will be billed afterwards. The procedure for requesting incidental extra days and the credit policy can be found here link.

If you want to change something in your contract, for example an extra or different day of care, please email your request to customer service at info@sko-oegstgeest.nl. We are happy to look at the possibilities for you.

My child is going to high school soon. Will the contract end automatically?
The contract does not end automatically. You can cancel this via info@sko-oegstgeest.nl subject to one month's notice. For example: if you cancel June 25, your contract will end on July 25.

  • During the first two weeks you can still upload photos and communicate with the group;
  • The last six weeks you can only download the digital notebook and photos.

How do I build credit?
It is possible that your child is not present on a fixed childcare day. If you have your child no later than five working days cancel in advance, you will receive a credit with which you can request an extra day. Study days and non-school days are not covered by the credit policy. More information about the credit policy can be found here link.

How do I request an incidental extra day?
If you would like to purchase an extra day on an incidental basis, you can request this via the Parent app. If the occupancy of the group allows it, you can use this extra day. If you have built up credit (by making previous cancellations at least five working days in advance), you can 'pay' for the incidental extra day with this credit. How does billing work?
SKO sends the invoices in advance at the beginning of each month and the annual statements in February each year. The invoices and annual statements can also be found in the Parent app. You can find the invoices in the menu under Account, Invoices. If you do not have a working login for the Parent Portal, you can request one from customer service via info@sko-oegstgeest.nl

We work with an automatic debit. The amount will be around 22e of the month collected. If the direct debit is not successful, it will be offered to the bank again before the end of the month.

How are extra days billed?
An incidental extra day will be invoiced afterwards. You will receive the invoice for this at the beginning of the following month. The invoicing process is the same as for your regular invoices.

Why do I also receive invoices for the toddler care in July and August, while the childcare is closed?
At SKO we add up all childcare hours for a year. We divide the total number of hours by twelve months. This way you will receive the same invoice every month. The childcare allowance is also the same every month. In this way, the reception costs are spread.
