SKO is the first childcare organization in the Netherlands to take a major step in solving the staff shortage. From the summer, the staff in all groups of SKO will be supplemented by Artificial Pedagogical Employees (KPM'ers). The pilot period at the beginning of this year was a success.
Wanda Donker (HRM manager) is thrilled with this scoop: “We see the use of, for example, the care robots in the care sector and other sectors growing. Robots are increasingly becoming a part of our lives and the lives of children, that is the future. Our KPM'ers have a huge database of play and development material and interaction options for children of all ages and they speak no fewer than five languages. They are Able to assist with food preparation, diaper change and registration well-being/health of children. All data that our KPM staff collect is directly read into the child file. additional The advantage is that our KPM staff are available 24/7 (never sick, 100% charged). They can take a lot of work off the hands of our own PMs and support them, thus reducing the workload. Our own real pedagogical staff can then give all their time and personal attention to the children. They are of course irreplaceable!”
