Children of children

Childcare generations

“I have been working at SKO for almost 23 years. In all those years I have seen a lot of children pass by, both in daycare and after-school care. The first children I cared for will now be between 20 and 30 years old myself. The children of the out-of-school care may even be a bit older. Sometimes I wonder what became of those children. Maybe they are already father or mother themselves, who knows. You don't actually think about it that much. Year after year, children come and go and of course they get bigger and older.

Until suddenly…

A few weeks ago a new child came to our group, at the Kindercircus. A little boy of less than 2 months old. Nothing special, you might say, until I took another good look at the mother's name. That one looked very familiar to me.

When the parents came to the location for a second time, I took a good look at the mother and I was sure. That girl, whom I had taken care of at the after-school care years ago, was no longer a girl, but a young woman who had just become a mother. Wow! At first it was hard to swallow; am I really getting that old?! But at the same time I realized how special that really is. Children who were once cared for at SKO, now entrust their own children to us again. Different generations use the same shelter, so familiar and so much to experience! And I have been a part of that for almost 23 years now!”

Sustainable relationships

SKO strives for sustainable relationships. That we work long-term with schools and associations, that our colleagues are happy to continue working with us, but also that children from 0 to 14 years can stay with us. And with success. There are even several SKO employees who have been with us as children. And mothers and their daughters who now both work with us. That's a very big
compliment.

There is room at
SKO Oegstgeest!

There is room for new registrations at various after-school care and day care locations.
