What you need to know about childcare allowance
Do you want to use childcare? Then you want to make sure you can afford it. Many parents who use childcare are entitled to the childcare allowance. BOinK (Association of Parents in Childcare) has devised and developed a handy toolkit 'Explanation of Childcare Allowance'.
The toolkit explains childcare allowance: what is it, who is entitled to it and what are the conditions? In addition, the toolkit helps you step-by-step through the most important sections on the Toeslagen website. The toolkit is available to everyone and can be downloaded for free in; Dutch, English, Polish, Arabic, Ukrainian or Russian.
NB! You must apply for childcare allowance yourself. You will not automatically receive a childcare allowance when your child starts at childcare. Apply for the childcare allowance within 3 months after your child has started working at childcare.
The toolkit 'Explanation Childcare Allowance' consists of three parts:
- The app 'explanation childcare allowance' helps parents through the Benefits website.
- In the 'information letter childcare allowance' contains information about what childcare allowance is, who is entitled to it and what conditions are attached to it.
- In the 'checklist for applying for childcare allowance' contains an overview of information and documents that parents need to apply for (or change) a childcare allowance.
