Parent committee
We believe it is important that parents are involved in our childcare. Therefore, each childcare center has its own active Local Parent Committee (LOC). In addition, there is a Central Parent Committee (COC), where the chairpersons of all LOCs meet under the leadership of a independent chairman.
Local Parents' Committee (LOC)
The Local Consultative Committee (LOC) deals with the day-to-day operations of the childcare center and meets three to four times a year with the neighborhood childcare manager and/or the location coordinator. Ideally, one parent from each group sits on the committee – this ensures there is always a point of contact within your child's group and that every group is represented. Sometimes, LOCs from different locations within the same neighborhood choose to meet jointly so that parents and locations can get to know each other better and exchange experiences.
We would love to hear your opinion about our childcare. You are therefore very welcome to attend the meetings – as an observer or as a member. The meetings are announced on the information boards of the childcare center and/or in the newsletter.
Central Parents' Committee (COC)
The COC is involved in SKO's policy and advises our Board / Management Team on topics such as the price and quality of our childcare, nutritional matters, educational policy, safety and health, and the handling of complaints.
The COC meets at least three times a year on a scheduled basis. From 2026, in a pilot, together with a delegation from the Works Council. Because policies and decisions often impact children and parents as well as colleagues, we want to have those voices together at the table more often.
